From chewing gum vignettes for children to movies made in Hollywood, anti-Communist propaganda would become one of the driving forces of American politics and the obsession of several skillful politicians.

The witch hunt would fascinate America and Hollywood for more than fifty years.

In 1947 the Cold War is officially declared. The US government and FBI see communists everywhere.

The fear is real: much of America, terrorized by the atomic bomb, slips into a state of paranoia.  Institutional propaganda films, designed to put Americans on the alert against the dangers of Communism, begin to multiply.
